In Khuzestan, authorities again try to isolate Bahais

HRANA, October 6, 2013

In recent days, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence in Sarbandar and Bandar-e Mahshahr, in the South West of Iran, have summoned many citizens and required a written promise from them that they will have no friendly contact or business dealings with Bahais. Last year the Ministry ran a similar campaign to stop contacts with the Bahais in other cities in Khuzestan.

In a separate development, Hadi Khamene’i, the brother of the beloved leader, has been photographed socializing with Bahai prisoners who are in hospital, and with their young visitors.

  1. Hi, Sen- Thanks for this. When I tried to access the “short link” for the original Persian article, it led back to your translation. I am interested to authenticate the photo, which, if validated, could be important. Can you give a link to the original published photo? Can you give any further information authenticating the photo, or giving an alternative, reliable, confirmatory article detailing the circumstances?

    • I took the photo from Erfan Sabeti’s facebook page, October 3. He in turn has it from someone else, whose page or blog I cannot locate. Erfan’s facebook page is rich and voluminous. An easier place to locate the text of the report is on the facebook page “Lovers of Shoghi Effendi.” The story is that Hadi Khamene’i was visiting the hospital, and two of the teachers from the BIHE were in the same section of the hospital. [one, in fact, Fu’ad Moqaddam ~ edit by Sen] In itself, not a very significant story, since it seems to have been a matter of happenstance. That’s why I did not post the story on my blog on October 3. I only mentioned it today because of the sweet irony of the Supreme Leader’s brother fraternising with Bahais in Tehran, while the Ministry of Intelligence is coercing more lowly Iranians in the provinces to have no contacts with Bahais.
