The six Bahai prisoners from Gorgan who were recently transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran, and one Bahai prisoner from Gonbad, were transferred to Raja’i Shahr prison in Karaj on December 22. They were among about 20 Bahais who were detained in a wave of arrests of Bahais in Gorgan and Minudasht. Siamak Sadri, Fu’ad Fahandezh, Payam Markazi, Fahrmand Sana’i, Farhad Fahandezh, Kamal Kashani and Kourush Ziari ( سیامک صدری، فواد فهندژ، پیام مرکز، فرهمند ثنایی، فرهاد فهندژ , کمال کاشانی و کوروش زیاری), who were arrested in Gorgan on October 17, and taken to Evin prison in Tehran on November 22, were taken to the quarantine section of Raja’i Shahr prison “to serve their sentences,” although they have not yet been charged, tried or sentenced. On August 5, five Bahai prisoners were transferred from Evin Prison to Raja’i Shahr prison, although their sentences did not include exile, and two more were transferred on October 3. Raja’i Shahr prison also ‘houses’ the seven Bahai ‘Yaran’ (national facilitators) who are now in the fourth year of 20-year sentences for their Bahai beliefs.
