Six Bahai prisoners from Gorgan meet families

PCED, December 15

The six Bahai prisoners from Gorgan who were recently transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran were permitted to meet their families for 20 minutes on December 10. They are Siamak Sadri, Fu’ad Fahandezh, Payam Markazi, Fahrmand Sana’im, Farhad Fahenadezh and Kamal Kashani ( سیامک صدری، فواد فهندژ، پیام مرکز، فرهمند ثنایی، فرهاد فهندژ و کمال کاشانی). Farhad Fahenadezh’s health is reported to be poor. They were among about 20 Bahais who were detained in a wave of arrests of Bahais in Gorgan and Minudasht. Some of those arrested have been released on bail. These six however were transferred to Tehran on November 28. Although two months have now passed since their arrest, there is no indication of what charges they face, and the judge in the case has indicated that they may be transferred to Rajai Shahr prison to serve their sentences.

Another Bahai prisoner, Kourush Ziari ( کوروش زیاری ), who was arrested in Gonbad, has also been permitted to meet this family. The report implies that he was also detained in relation to the wave of arrests in Gorgan and Minudasht, but his name has not appeared in previous reports.
