Two Bahais begin 5-year sentences in Mashhad

HRANA, September 5

Noura Nabilzadeh and Sonya Ahmadi ( نورا نبیل زاده و سونیا احمدی ), two Bahai women from Mashhad, began serving their 5-year sentences on September 2, in Vakil Abad prison. They were charged with teaching the Bahai Faith and membership of the Bahai community. A number of other Bahais are also imprisoned in Vakil Abad prison, including five who are serving 5-year sentences: three women Rozita Watheqi, Nahid Qadiri and Sima Eshraqi ( رزیتا واثقی، ناهید قدیری و سیما اشراقی ) and two men, Davar Nabil-zadeh ( داور نبیل‌زاده ) and Jalayar Wahdat ( جلایر وحدت ), who are respectively the father and maternal uncle of Noura Nabilzadeh.
