Two Bahais from Mashhad, Shayan Tafazolli ( شایان تفضلی ) and Sina Aqdas-zadeh ( سینا اقدس زاده ), have been freed on bail of 100 million tumans (65,000 euros; 81,000 US dollars), after two months of ‘temporary’ detention by the Ministry of Information. They were released on August 25 and 26 respectively.
On August 27, six Bahais from Yazd were released on bail, after 28 days in detention. Bail for Iman Rashidi and Faribourz Baghi (ایمان رشیدی و فریبرز باغی) was set at 80 million tumans. Bail for Nateq Na’imi, Fariba Ashtari, Shabnam Mottahed and Fahrnaz Mithaqian ( فریبا اشتری، شبنم متحد و فرحناز میثاقیان ) was 50 million tumans. The arrest of Shabnam Mottahed and Fahrnaz Mithaqian has not previously been reported on this blog. The others were among those arrested in the wave of arrests in central Iran reported on August 1.
On August 28, Vahdat Dana ( وحدت دانا ) was released from prison in Shiraz, after completing his 10-month sentence. He was charged with propaganda against the regime in support of the Bahai Faith.
