HRANA, August 10
Shahram Mokhtari ( شهرام مختاری ), a Bahai from Birjand (South Khorasan) has been sentenced by a revolutionary court to four months imprisonment and a 32-month suspended sentence, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” He was arrested on April 24, which means he has already served 3 months of his sentence and is due for release on August 28. However the Ministry of Intelligence is pursuing another case against Shahram, in the public court, and on August 7 he was taken from prison to the court, and later returned to prison. The sentence in this case is expected shortly. Another Bahai, the 85-year-old Muhammad Hussein Nakh`i ( محمد حسین نخعی ), has been held in the same prison for three months, without any clarification.
