HRANA, July 28
Nader Kesa’i ( نادر کسایی ), a Bahai from Semnan, has been sentenced to one year in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime and teaching the Bahai Faith. He was arrested in February 2011, and released on bail in March 2011. He was later sentenced to three years in prison. He was arrested in the Summer of 2011, to serve his sentence in Semnan prison, but after 3 months he was released on bail because his sentence was overturned by the country’s supreme court. Now, he has been given a new sentence of one year in prison. His wife, Shohreh Azimi ( شهره اعظمی ) was also sentenced recently, to 8 months in prison.
In a separate case, Neda Majidi ( ندا مجیدی ) a Bahai from Mehdishahr (also known as Sangsar), in Semnan province, was fined 40 million rials (2,600 euros; 3200 US dollars). In November 2011, she was interrogated continually by the Ministry of Intelligence in Semnan for one month, although she was pregnant at the time.
